Bill Wayne
Abbey Ridge Vineyard
Bill and Julia Wayne planted their 20-acre vineyard in 1977-78. A former prune orchard blown down by the great Columbus Day storm of 1962, the vineyard faces southwest in the Red Hills of Dundee. Bill estimates he spends about 300 hours a year sitting on a tractor farming the vineyard, which is divided into two parcels by a shallow ravine. Abbey Ridge is planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, and five clones of Pinot Noir. Since 1983, the Waynes have been partners in Cameron Winery.
